In-Home Therapy

SkyIn-person therapy is hard to navigate.

Physical mobility or lack of transportation makes leaving the house difficult.

It feels like a monumental task to pack up all the kids’ stuff and get them out of the house and into the car. Besides, what do you do with the kids when they are in the office? They will tear the place apart! That’s not therapeutic for you at all. What if the kids aren’t supposed to join you, but you have no childcare?

And once you are at the office, getting into the office from the parking lot is a journey, and the chairs aren’t the right size. Having therapy in your own space, on your couch, and surrounded by your things would make you feel more at ease.

Meeting obligations like accommodating nap times, dropping off kids at school, and dealing with other appointments is a handful. Driving or taking public transportation to the therapist’s office seems impossible.

Telehealth isn’t the answer for you.

You may have doubts about working online because of potentially challenging technology. It may seem impersonal, or perhaps you’re sick of being on screens all day and want to connect with a real person.

At this point, however, you wish someone would make it easier for you to get the support and service you need.

I get it! Telehealth is not for everyone. This is why I offer in-home therapy.

In-home therapy helps solve many problems.

It is an excellent alternative to in-person in my office and telehealth therapy. Therapy in your home means the difference between major hassles and maybe even not getting treatment at all, versus getting help in the comfort of your home in a way that works for you, your family, and your schedule.

After years of in-home services as a community health social worker, I know that in-home services break down barriers to getting care and that therapy in-home looks and feels different than in an office. It’s more comfortable and more personal.

You can be home while your baby naps or when the kids get off the bus. As you work with me, you can have your creature comforts around you and avoid mobility or size hassles. More importantly, you can sidestep transportation issues and focus entirely on YOU.

The focus is on you, not your space.

I don’t worry about whether your house is tidy. It’s where your life happens, and sometimes life is messy!

Especially when you are not feeling great, it’s typical for housekeeping to fall by the wayside, and kids multiply the clutter! Some kinds of mess are a sign that there is more going on, and if that’s the case, I’ll work with you to help you get the support you need, but most of the time, the state of your home is not going to be of concern to me. It’s not what I focus on.

Also, I’m not a guest in your home. I see myself as a worker. I may occasionally ask for a drink of water or to use the bathroom, but beyond that, there is no need for hospitality. As a worker, rather than a guest, I will politely decline food offers or other similar gestures.

Let’s make therapy easier to navigate.

I offer in-home services within a 30-minute driving distance of West Hartford. That includes Avon, Bloomfield, Canton, East Hartford, Farmington, Glastonbury, Hartford, Manchester, New Britain, Newington, Plainville, Rocky Hill, Simsbury, West Hartford, and Windsor.

There is an additional $100 travel fee for in-home services because of the travel time and expense. However, its convenience is worth the added cost when it allows you to get the help you need.

In-home sessions can be mixed with telehealth or office-based sessions, so you can use the service when needed and manage your budget accordingly.

Call me for a free consultation to see if in-home sessions are the right solution for your needs. Don’t let logistics prevent you from feeling better!
