This very personal episode of Urban Service Talks explores grief and loss on many levels. It was my first time as a guest on this podcast, although I’ve served as the alumni consultant and guide to the healthcare profession students who lead and run the podcast for the past 5 years. I’m a graduate of the organization that created this podcast, Urban Service Track, a two-year extracurricular training program that teaches interprofessional healthcare for serving vulnerable populations. I speak with two social work students about my own year of grief and loss, and the importance of training, support, and policy around this difficult topic.
